"I enjoyed this book mostly because of the quality of the" according to M Hull. While this was an important book on adoption, and while it also offered an intimate survey of Hope; I enjoyed this book mostly because of the quality of the writing. I read books that are "good for me" - often reluctantly, because they just aren't that much fun to read. I read non-fiction books because I know I should. This non-fiction, good-for-me book was one I simply did not want to put down because Dann Johnson is just that good as a writer. He seems to inherently know the littlest things that make a book a good read starting with the title. It has deep meaning which he develops throu. Worth Every penny could not put this book down. His raw and honest conversation type approach captivated me through the whole story. I cried with them, and the book helped me identify some things our own family has had to walk through with children. As a adopted kid myself and a mom wanting to adopt, I HIGHLY recommend this journey.. "Do you like surprises?" according to Laurel West. Never have I read a more astounding story of human love than Dann Robert Johnson’s Lily Was the Valley: Undone by Adoption. Dann and his wife Tammy have taught adults and kids of all ages and have been business owners, youth and children's directors, education consultants, and general managers of a coffee shop and culture center. They have six children, none of them born in the same place, three biological and three adopted. . They've lived in three countries, six U.S. states, and three Chinese provinces. Dann has enjoyed the mixed bl

Dr. Like all journeys of the heart, there are no shortcuts to the end. My own adoption experiences of despair and hope and love were relived as Dann shared a journey that was at times gut-wrenching, at-times humorous, and always honest. Victoria Chiu, LMHC, Co-founder, Crown Counseling Center I wondered what new insights into the complexities of adoption Dann Robert Johnson might possibly offer this seven-time adoptive mother, adoption caseworker, international orphan advocate, and avid adoption-genre reader. Dann spoke in so many deep ways to all of our core values as an organization. This book is a glimpse into a father's struggle

It’s the story of a flawless Lily in the darkest valley. Or loss. Never counted on illness. But more than anything it may be a story for adoptees who wonder if someone could have loved them before they came home. "This gut-wrenching struggle through the mysterious strains of deepest love arrested me. Loss unforeseen. Ken Castor, adoptive father, 2002, and contributing editor for the Jesus Centered Bible.. Hope forever. As for Dann, his head had always ruled his heart. Now Lily was dying, and he was about to find out just how little he knew about love. It's for adoptive families. Dann’s humor and acute honesty hurtle the reader through a memoir that reads like fiction but shines with hope for the times real life deals us its worst. Difficulty unlooked for. They’d never heard about the darker side
