"A solid story marred by mistakes" according to Hairball. This is a book I feel conflicted about. On the one hand it has a very engaging story, and the author does a good job building the suspense as the book progresses. I really enjoyed the fact that the author does not give everything away right off the bat, but reveals clues through flashbacks and narration that help to not only drive the overall story but also help set the atmosphere.However, this book suffers from some flaws that constantly kick the reader out of the mood/story the book is trying to create. There are a lot of errors in this book, from the wrong word used in a sentence (cap instead of cab, not instead of nod), commas that shoul. K. Reynolds said Just what I hoped for - and rarely find.. This brought flashbacks to John Carpenter's "The Fog" (1980 - not the lame remake). Ripley hooked me in from the first chapter. My only disappointment - it's a novel rather than a trilogy.
