"Does not explain in detail how to do the work" according to L.F.. This book does not explain in detail, forsomeone starting out new like me, enough for you to completely do all of the work in the book. If it did, it would have been a great book.. A work of love David's book is a concentrated effort of dedication and love. We were a loosely associated group of international artists who discovered we could do art on our iPhones. Some of the apps created Groups on Flickr and we (I) thought, that's fun, I can do that. Then others said "How'd you do that, what app?" and from the beginning this group was about sharing. Seeing this book come to fruition and sharing not only those early techniques (the app I began on never made it. Judith Hoffman said Not very useful. I have several issues with this book. The first is that it already seems out of date. Not surprising, considering how fast things change. Before buying this book, I tried a number of drawing apps - starting with Paper (too limited), Brushes (it always seemed awkward to me) and ArtRage (never could master the color picker, really lags behind my strokes).
