It starts you off using basic technique, and gives you a good foundation of where to start and how to move forward. It didn't come with a dvd or CD or anything like that, but I just looked up youtube video's for how things should sound or how to hold my bow, how to sit while playing ect ect. I would definitely recommend that you purchase this book if you are brand new to the music world.. , and I took choir in high school so I really don't remember much about music.
