Kleiner makes Art History enjoyable, virtually painless, and easy to understand. He loves what he does and it shows through his engaging text, anecdotes, descriptions, and concise definitions. He gives one just enough information without it becoming a sensory overload with facts and verbatim. I would highly recommend any of his books to have in the home as reference. My teenage sons even were perusing through some of the pages, commenting, reading about the artists, and we became engaged in some nice conversations! Considering they are normal, teenage boys, complete with attitudes and video games on the brain when not doing . "great book" according to Cheryl A. Wolverton. I only took this class because my counselor suggested it. I needed one more class. I have loved the class. But more than that, I have actually enjoyed this book. It doesn't go into such detail that my eyes glaze over. Believe me, I re-read portions of the chapters every night (according to what chapter we are in during class). I also have the study tools online. To be absorbed in it so much one would think you would get tired or bored.But quite the opposite.
