Barely skims the surface While this is not a bad reference book, it fails to do what it claims. It does NOT, in any way, replace an actual class. While I agree with the author that school/classes can be a time-suck/not worth the cost/etc., this book BARELY skims the surface of even an intro-level class. It's a decent reference book (for example, the financial ratios section is useful), but does not teach much of anything.The other main criticism I have is that the author spends a lot of time writing about irrelevant stuff. He provides examples and history that, while possibly interesting, do not apply to wh. Katarina Ortmann said but is informative and can be useful.. Doesn't exactly replace an MBA, but gives a quick overview of important topics. Not really that different from many other business books, but is informative and can be useful.
