The authors are easy to understand and they explain concepts well, and their illustrations, diagrams and examples of. Clear, Contemporary, and Free of Clutter Basic Chemistry is a very clear presentation of basic chemistry. The text is appropriate and well written for an introduction to the composition of matter and how we understand materials made up of atoms. The text includes excellent contemporary examples and discussions. The problems are well chosen to reflect the chapter topics; they are v. Good, with omissions Colin While the text is thorough in most places, there are a few missing topics (that I can only assume were omitted due to being beyond the anticipated course expectations) that really shouldn't be missing.Dipole moments are mentioned, but discussed very little, particularly with regard to what makes a molecule polar or nonpolar.Oxidation reduct
